The Hindi version of the Kannada film, KD: The Devil, was heavily criticised by all for its vulgar and objectionable words. After the backlash, the makers removed the Sarke Chunar lyrical video from YouTube, penned by Raqueeb Alam. Earlier this afternoon, Nora Fatehi reacted to the controversy and said that she had no idea about it. And now, Sarke Chunar singer Mangli has issued an apology soon after Nora’s clarification over the song lyrics row. She said that the cleaner version will be up on the internet soon. Mangli took to her Instagram story and shared a note in which she apologised to people for lending voice to Sarke Chunar. She said that the song has been removed from all platforms after the backlash from the public. Mangli wrote, “I sincerely apologise to each and every one of you for the unintended mistake. It was never meant to hurt anyone’s sentiments, and we truly regret the oversight.” Mangli issues apology amid Sarke Chunar row. (Credit: Instagram) Mangli assured that the corrected version of the lyrics has now been updated, and it will be released on the evening of March 18. She promised that such a situation would not arise again. She even thanked the makers and music composer Arjun Janya. She has the highest regard for the composer. For the unversed, Nora Fatehi shared a video statement on Instagram in which she revealed that she shot the song three years ago. The actress claimed that the makers shared the lyrical video without her approval. She claimed that they used her and Sanjay Dutt’s AI-generated picture as a thumbnail of the song. Apart from that, she was also told that Sarke Chunar was the remake of Sanjay Dutt’s famous song, Nayak Nahin Khalnayak Hoon Main. She was excited to work with Sanjay Dutt but didn’t know that the makers would present them in such a vulgar song. Nora further mentioned that she had told the director of the film, Prem, that the song will not be taken positively by the public after hearing its Hindi lyrics. She stated that she never endorsed AI and has disassociated herself from the song. She didn’t promote Sarke Chunar on her social media handles. Coming back to the film, KD: The Devil will be released on April 30 in theatres. The film also stars Dhruva Sarja, Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty and others in pivotal roles.
