The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is yet to open the window for verification of marks and revaluation of Class 10 and 12 board exam results, despite announcing that the process would begin on June 1. As of Sunday afternoon, the designated CBSE portal continues to display an “under maintenance” message, stating that the service will be made available “soon”. The delay comes days after the board postponed the start of the post-result activities, saying additional time was required to ensure a “glitch-free” process. The postponement had triggered concern among students, particularly those seeking admission to engineering colleges through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) counselling process, which is scheduled to begin on June 2 following the declaration of JEE Advanced results. Several students had opposed the delay, arguing that any further postponement in the revaluation process could affect candidates attempting to improve their Class 12 scores to meet the 75 per cent eligibility criterion required for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other premier engineering institutions. Students have expressed apprehension that if revised marks are not issued in time, they could miss crucial counselling deadlines or face uncertainty during the admission process. However, the board also noted that final admission will remain subject to the fulfilment of all eligibility conditions, including the prescribed Class XII percentage requirement. This means that while students can register for and take part in counselling, their admission will only be confirmed after they satisfy the academic eligibility criteria. The delay in opening the CBSE verification and revaluation portal has therefore kept many aspirants on edge, as they await an opportunity to seek corrections or reassessment of their board examination marks before the admission process progresses further. The board has not yet issued a fresh timeline for activation of the portal. Students are advised to regularly monitor the official CBSE website for updates.
