Spider-Man Brand New Day Trailer: Tom Holland's Peter Parker On Verge Of 'Rebirth', Reunites With Zendaya's MJ
Tom Holland went live on his Instagram account from New York City to introduce the trailer of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The actor released the trailer from the top of the Empire State Building bright and early in the morning as the sun rose with some young fans of the superhero. The two-and-a-half minute trailer is the first official look at the fourth standalone Spider-Man movie in the MCU which will release in theaters on July 31, 2026. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, this is the first film not directed by Jon Watts. Spider-Man: Brand New Day trailer features the return of Peter Parker On social media, Sony Pictures Entertainment released the trailer stating, "A Brand New Day starts now." In the first look at the superhero hero, a lonely Spider-Man/Peter Parker has written a letter to his friend Ned (Jacob Batalon) and MJ (Zendaya). At the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home Parker made a sacrifice to save New York City and the multiverse from being ripped apart and it included that everyone forgot that he was Spider-Man. The trailer also includes shots of Peter stopping by the grave of his aunt, May Parker (Marisa Tomei). The trailer includes the return of two MCU characters as Jon Bernthal's Punisher aka Frank Castle, Spider-Man's frenemy and Mark Ruffalo's Dr. Bruce Banner. While Punisher and Spider-Man have a love-hate relationship, Peter goes to Dr Banner to find out what's wrong with him. Banner does not recognise the young man and tells him that that his DNA is mutating and it could be dangerous. A voiceover reveals that spiders have three life cycles and between life cycles, they can be vulnerable to threats. With a new comic-accurate red-and-blue suit, Spider-Man has to figure out what's going wrong and how to fix it. Meanwhile, on the personal front, Peter tries to reconnect with Ned and MJ who are now enrolled in MIT. But is it too late for Peter, as MJ seems to have moved on to a new guy? While the trailer showed quick shots of Michael Mando, Tramell Tillman, and Marvin Jones III, the movie is still keeping Sadie Sink's character under wraps. The Stranger Things star's character is missing from the trailer. Liza Colon-Zayas also joins the cast for the fourth film. Written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the character's seventh appearance in the Marvel universe. The official synopsis for the film states: Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he's devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.
