The two have been detained for questioning, they said. The Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Police is investigating the case and trying to ascertain the travel itinerary of the detained foreign nationals. According to reports, the duo was traveling from Srinagar to Delhi by Air India flight AI1893 but were held by CISF personnel due to possession of a satellite GPS and subsequently de-boarded. They have been identified as Prather Jeffrey Scott and Haldar Koushik. Out of the two US nationals, Haldar Koushik is said to be originally from Kolkata but is currently living in the United States. In India, one can use a satellite phone only after acquiring a prior license from the Department of Telecommunications.
