NEET UG 2026 Paper Leak: NTA Issues Clarification, Advisory on Biometric Issues
The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) is scheduled to be held on May 3, 2026, from 2 PM to 5 PM. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has ensured that all question papers and confidential materials reached their allotted destination safely. Clearing the air around the paper leak claims circulating on social media platforms, NTA said, “There is no possibility of paper leaks or early access.” NTA asserted that the claims gaining traction on social media or Telegram channels are a hoax and misleading. “Please don’t fall for scams or unnecessary panic. NTA is proactively taking action against all such reports,” the tweet added. The agency further asked students to report such rumours to CyberCrime or NTA, so that appropriate measures are taken. This year, NEET UG 2026 is being held at 552 examination centres across the state. Efforts are being made at all test centres across the country to ensure smooth and fair conduct of the exam. In Gurugram, 875 candidates are set to appear at 18 Centres in Gurugram. According to ADC Shri Sonu Bhatt, the authorities have ascertained all the basic facilities and seamless traffic management at examination centres. In a latest notification, NTA apprised the candidates that on exam day, each and every one has to undergo the compulsory biometric process before entering the exam hall. If the biometric verification of a candidate cannot be completed due to device hardware failure, poor quality of biometric data, connectivity failure with UIDAI, or physical inability to provide biometric data, the candidate will still be allowed to enter the examination room. However, they must submit a written undertaking. The format for undertaking will be provided at the examination centre. Notably, candidates shall not be interrupted during the examination period 02:00 to 05:00 PM (up to 06:00 PM in case of expected PwD/PwBD candidates) for the biometric process.
