Varun Dhawan REACTS To Getting Trolled For Border 2: God Takes You Down...Jun 2, 7:00 AM
2026 began on a fantastic note with the success of Border 2. The sequel to JP Dutta's Border arrived on the big screen in January. Starring Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan and Ahan Shetty, the movie opened to mixed reviews, but worked well at the box office. After Border 2's songs and trailer were released, Varun was massively trolled on social media. The Bollywood actor was criticised for his performance and smile in the war drama. Nearly five months after the film's release, he has reacted to getting trolled on the internet. In an interview with Bombay Times, Varun reflected on trolling he received before Border 2's release and how the narrative changed after it hit the big screen. The actor learnt about God's screenplay during this phase. He mentioned that when one works hard on genuine film like Border 2 about army and country, they feel only good things will happen. However, in Varun's case, the scenario was different. Hence, when the actor was subjected to negativity, he wondered how it happened. "Why is this happening with this film? I feel that sometimes God takes you down just to lift you up again. That’s exactly what happened to me," added Varun. The Bollywood actor further stated that he let his work speak for itself. In the same conversation, Varun recalled getting criticised when Main Tera Hero was released in 2014. The actor revealed he was called 'loud actor', and got labelled left, right, and centre. However, things changed when the same film re-released in cinemas last month. Varun was shocked to see the way people loved an responded it. And while he is currently promoting Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, the actor said his old movie being talked about. On the work front, Varun will next be seen in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. The actor has reunited with his father David Dhawan for the fourth time. Helmed by the legendary filmmaker, the romantic-comedy also stars Pooja Hegde, Mrunal Thakur, Mouni Roy, Maniesh Paul, Rakesh Bedi, Chunky Panday, and others. It is ready for a silver screen release on June 5. The film was earlier set for a May 22 release and box office clash with Ananya Panday and Lakshya's Chand Mera Dil. But the maker postponed it by two weeks. Get the Latest Entertainment News, Bollywood News and Gossips Also Find Upcoming Movies, Latest Movies and Web Series, Visit Times Now for Live Coverage.
