Days Before Re-NEET, IAF Helicopter Seen Transporting Question Papers in Chhindwara
IAF Helicopter Airlifts Re-NEET Papers to Chhindwara Amid Heightened Security Measures Nearly 72 hours before the re-NEET exam begins, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has started airlifting question papers for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, Undergraduate (NEET UG). A video shared online by news agency shows question papers for the NEET undergraduate re-examination being airlifted by IAF Helicopter in Chhindwara. In the video shared on X, secured boxes of question papers can be seen being deboarded from a helicopter, while the area is secured by policemen. Re-NEET 2026 is scheduled to be conducted on June 21, 2026. The medical entrance exam was earlier conducted on May 3 as per the original schedule. However, on May 12, the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced that following claims of paper leak, the Agency has decided to cancel the exam. Following this, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the re-NEET date as June 21 during a press briefing that was held on May 15. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is currently probing the paper leak. This announcement was made by the NTA DG during a meeting held by Telangana Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao on the arrangements for NEET. NEET UG is a national-level medical entrance examination in India. The exam is held annually, and usually on the first Sunday of May. It is the mandatory qualification required for students seeking admission to undergraduate medical, dental, and AYUSH courses in government and private institutions. This time, over 22 lakh students will be appearing for the largest medical entrance exam of the country. Students who qualify this exam will have to go through a counselling process, following which their admission will be finalised.
