Shah Rukh Khan Drops Rs 42 Lakh Fee For Deool Band 2 Makers — Know The Reason Speaking to Abhijat Marathi Filmy, Tarde recalled approaching SRK's production house, Red Chillies Entertainment, for a Digital Cinema Package (DCP), the digital format required to screen films in theatres. He said that while the makers had initially budgeted around Rs 12 lakh for the process, they were given an estimate of nearly Rs 42 lakh. This put the makers in a difficult situation as they neither had the funds nor any immediate means to arrange the money. Despite being a Marathi regional film with a limited budget, they were keen on releasing it on a large scale. When they explained this to Red Chillies and sought support, what followed reportedly left everyone moved. Tarde revealed that the matter eventually reached Shah Rukh, who asked his technical team for details. He was reportedly informed that the project was from the makers of Mulshi Pattern and that, although the DCP was ready, it had not been handed over due to pending dues. After learning more about the film, SRK asked his team to proceed with the DCP. King Khan directed his team to waive the bill. The filmmaker recalled, "He simply said, ‘Waive off their bill.’ He told them, ‘It’s a Marathi film. Give them the DCP. We can sort out the payments later. If it’s a good film, give them the DCP.’ They showed tremendous respect towards Marathi cinema. For him, the film was more important than the money." The director said that he remains deeply grateful for the gesture, noting that the actor supported the film without knowing its eventual commercial outcome.
