The Indian cricket team are not wearing regular kits at Asian Games |courtsey - BCCI/PTI The Indian men's and women's teams will be seen in a different avatar at the 2026 Asian Games, as they will not wear the regular T20I jerseys during the continental showpiece event. Instead, they will wear a unique kit, which has been made for this event during the course of the competition. Both the Indian men's and women's teams are aiming to defend their gold medal, which they won in the 2023 edition at Hangzhou. The women's competition started on Thursday (17th September), while the Shreyas Iyer-led men's side will play their first game (Quarter-final) on 27th September. The IOA kits are supplied by JSW Inspire while the regular BCCI kits are made by Adidas. However, the Indian men's team will wear their regular kit during the historic clash against Japan in Sano on Tuesday (September 22), as that game is not part of the Asian Games and is a bilateral clash. Meanwhile, the Shreyas-led side's jersey became a source of controversy after it emerged that several players received.
