War Co-Stars Sienna Miller, Dominic West on working together after their first play In an interview with Zoom, Sienna revealed that the play they did called As You Like It was the first time she had performed on stage and felt like a real novice. Her co-star Dominic praised her work on the Shakespeare play, saying it is the largest female part of the playwright's and stood in for the late Helen McCrory. Regarding their characters and the litigious divorce that Carla and Morgan are involved in, both stars like playing exaggerated versions of themselves that could get away with terrible things. Sienna shared, "I did judge Carla at the beginning. I was trying to fight for things to be more human until I realised actually, it's really fun to play somebody who isn't that nice to lean into that. I've always struggled to do that before. But I really enjoyed turning down any warmth that I naturally might have and playing somebody who's very much in command of the world around her without much consideration for others in it." The Wire star Dominic added, "I'm similar, I suppose, with lots of actors in that you do fight your corner. You do want everyone to like your character, even when you're playing a serial killer. But there was less to like about Morgan. He's obviously a ruthless billionaire. And there's one scene in the show where he says, 'You can have this watch is worth about a million if you strip off to this man.' And it's a deeply bullying, humiliating scene. But he's trying to prove a point that he can get people to do anything for money. It's great playing nasty people doing nasty things when there's no consequence because you're just acting." Meanwhile, actor Nick Mohammed, who has now made a name for himself playing all sorts of characters on British TV, spoke about the need for representation with authenticity. He shared, "I've tried to be really vocal about the fact that if the story is about a particular culture or a particular identity, then you cast appropriately and that the storytelling and the writing are really authentic and true. But equally, it is just as important, I think, nowadays that people of colour can be cast in roles that are called Nathan or Michael or Stuart or anything like that. Especially things that are set in London, like War is. [London's] been multicultural for decades, hundreds of years even." But the Ted Lasso actor also stated, "I think it can sometimes be easy to cast a diverse actor to then have to portray like a diverse storyline, but it doesn't have to be like that. I think sometimes people see the answer to sort of solving the kind of lack of representation problem of like, OK, well, let's just cast a person of colour and they can have like a diverse storyline. That sort of is meaningless to me nowadays. I feel like a diverse storyline should be any storyline, really."
