NEET-PG 2026 Plea Seeks Question Papers for Score Verification According to a LiveLaw report, a bench comprising Justice PS Narasimha and Justice Alok Aradhe issued the notice on October 15 and tagged the matter with pending petitions concerning structural issues involving the National Testing Agency (NTA). The petition challenges the NBEMS notice dated October 1, which provided candidates with question-wise evaluation details through their individual applicant logins. These details include question IDs, numerical IDs of correct answers, candidates’ recorded responses and marks awarded. However, the association has argued that the information does not reveal the actual questions or the complete text of the answer options in the order presented during the examination. According to the petition, the existing disclosure mechanism does not allow candidates to establish whether the correct answer key has been applied to the questions they attempted or whether their responses have been accurately mapped to the corresponding questions and options. The plea points out that NBEMS uses a candidate-specific shuffling mechanism for both the sequence of questions and the order of answer options. As a result, numerical identifiers alone may not enable candidates to verify the substantive accuracy of their evaluation. The petition also states that candidates who sought clarification from NBEMS were informed through standardised responses that their results were factual and correct. The association has argued that such responses do not adequately address concerns about the verifiability of individual examination records. The petition seeks directions to NBEMS to provide each candidate with a copy of their actual question paper, the complete answer options in the sequence displayed during the examination, their recorded responses, the official correct answers and the marks awarded for each question. It has also sought permanent downloadable copies of these records and a reasonable, time-bound window for candidates to raise objections. The plea further calls for a subject-expert committee to examine objections and for corrections to scores and ranks wherever errors are established. NEET-PG 2026 was conducted on August 30, and the results were declared on September 24. The examination is used for admission to postgraduate medical courses. The petition argues that candidates need an effective opportunity to verify their scores and seek corrections before the counselling and admission process progresses. It also seeks standard operating procedures for transparent post-examination disclosure in future postgraduate medical entrance examinations. Further proceedings will determine how the court addresses the demands for disclosure and transparency.
