Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi during a public rally Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi, in yet another appeal ahead of Opposition's November 1 march over their 'vote chori' charge against the government, has urged all students irrespective of their political affiliation to join the rally if they think India, their thoughts, or ideas are under attack. The Congress party is holding a massive rally against the government amid the SIR controversy in New Delhi. The Opposition has been doubting the credibility of elections over deletion of voters during the electoral roll revision exercise, currently underway in the country. The Opposition's stir gained pace after an Indian Express report last month alleged that the two elections commissioners - Vivek Joshi and Sukhbhir Singh Sandhu - had raised objections related to some of the clauses of the SIR process including the Form 6. Most recently, the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday submitted its affidavit in the Supreme Court confirming that all decisions taken by the poll body were unanimous. Though the matter is in the top court now, the Congress-led Opposition has been protesting on the alleged cause for weeks to continue mounting pressure on the government and is set to hold its mega rally on November 1. With just three days left for the march, Rahul Gandhi took to X and appealed, "Let's go to the Delhi Ramlila March, this is a march to save democracy, to stop vote theft, and to save the Constitution. This is not a march for any one political party - it is a march for the soul of India. All those who are fed up with Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, and Gyanesh Kumar. All those who want to save democracy and protect the Constitution, come. This is just one protest - it is the nation's protest." "Don't worry about the police, don't worry about lathicharge - the BJP will not have the guts to try any of their antics. Come march with us - we will walk together to protect the Constitution, to protect the Indian nation. There is no need to panic," said Rahul. The INDIA bloc will also hold a "public impeachment" proceeding against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on October 30 at Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge's 10, Rajaji Marg residence, over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. After the public impeachment, there will be 'Dilli Chalo March' against "vote chori" culminating at Ramlila Maidan on November 1, and a rally will be held there.
