UP Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2026 Application Deadline Extended To November 4Oct 29, 2026, 13:35 IST
The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has extended the application deadline for Assistant Teacher (Attached Primary) recruitment under Advertisement No. 05/2026 by one week, following a court order and a subsequent communication from the state government. Eligible candidates can now submit their applications until November 4, 2026. According to the commission’s notice, the decision follows an order passed by the Allahabad High Court on October 24, 2026, in Writ Petition A No. 16588 of 2026, and a letter issued by the Uttar Pradesh government’s Secondary Education Department on October 27. The notice also confirms the inclusion of two additional qualifications for the post of Assistant Teacher (Attached Primary) under the Secondary Education Department. These are a two-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) and a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) degree. The revised eligibility provisions apply to candidates seeking appointment as Assistant Teacher (Attached Primary) in the Secondary Education Department. The deadline extension will give eligible candidates additional time to apply under the updated qualification criteria. Along with extending the application deadline, the commission has extended the window for making corrections to submitted application forms. Candidates will now be able to make modifications until November 7, 2026. Applicants should review their application details carefully and make any permitted changes within the revised correction window. They should also check the official recruitment notice and application portal for instructions regarding eligibility and the correction process. The commission has clarified that the deadline extension will not affect the examination schedule. The written examination under Advertisement No. 05/2026 will be conducted on December 3 and 4, 2026, as previously scheduled. Candidates preparing for the recruitment examination should continue their preparation according to the existing timetable. The latest notice changes the application and correction deadlines but does not announce any postponement of the written examination. Candidates are advised to refer to the official commission website for the complete recruitment notification, eligibility requirements and further updates.
