Bharti Airtel Q4 FY27 Results (Image Source: iStock) Bharti Airtel Limited has reported a strong financial performance for the second quarter of FY2026-27, with its consolidated net profit increasing by 30.87 per cent year-on-year to Rs 8,888 crore. The telecom operator also recorded healthy revenue growth, supported by an improvement in average revenue per user (ARPU) and an expanding 4G and 5G subscriber base. The company's financial results reflect continued growth in its telecom operations, although higher infrastructure-related expenses and rising licence fees remained important cost considerations during the quarter. Bharti Airtel's consolidated net profit attributable to the company's owners reached Rs 8,888 crore in Q2FY27, compared with Rs 6,791.7 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. This represents an annual increase of 30.87 per cent. Revenue from operations also registered substantial growth. The company's consolidated operating revenue rose 16.7 per cent year-on-year to Rs 60,877.5 crore, against Rs 52,145.4 crore recorded in Q2FY26. Within the domestic market, India revenue increased by 9.4 per cent to Rs 42,308 crore during the quarter. The growth highlights the contribution of the company's Indian telecom business to its overall financial performance. ARPU Rises To Rs 271 Amid Growth In 4G And 5G Subscribers Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), a key indicator of revenue generated from individual telecom customers, improved to Rs 271 in Q2FY27 from Rs 256 in the year-ago quarter. This translates into an annual increase of approximately 6 per cent, indicating improved monetisation across the company's subscriber base. A significant factor supporting the ARPU improvement was the addition of 18.8 million users to Bharti Airtel's combined 4G and 5G customer base. The expansion of its higher-generation mobile network users has contributed to stronger revenue realisation per subscriber. ARPU remains an important performance metric for telecom operators because it helps assess customer spending patterns and the revenue potential of their subscriber networks. Despite reporting growth in profitability and revenue, Bharti Airtel continued to face higher operating costs during the quarter. The company's total expenses were reported at Rs 25,931.6 crore in Q2FY27. Increased spending on network-related activities was among the factors contributing to the expense base. These costs include the operation and maintenance of the company's telecommunications infrastructure. Additionally, a 13 per cent increase in licence fees added to the company's overall expenditure. Rising network maintenance requirements and regulatory charges remain important factors influencing the cost structure of telecom businesses.
