Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Sita in Ramayana Another remark from the interview caught fans' attention. Ranbir described the coming years as his "last decade as an actor", leading to questions about whether he was considering stepping away from leading roles. However, he clarified that he was not looking at his career through the audience's perspective or worrying about whether viewers might get bored of seeing him on screen. Instead, he was reflecting on the kind of roles he currently gets to play. "I'm not looking at it from an audience's lens, trying to predict that they might get bored of me or I'm too old. I'm looking at it through my lens. If I stay inspired, if I'm getting good work, I would 100 per cent do it," he explained. Ranbir added that acting would remain an option as long as he continued to find interesting work. He also described the feeling of being creatively inspired as a luxury. For the actor, direction has been a long-standing passion rather than a career move prompted by a lack of acting opportunities. "It was always my passion. It was always something I always wanted to do. It was to tell a story. And finally, I have a story, and I hope I can create it and then make it," he said. Before making his directorial debut, Ranbir has several major projects to complete. These include Ramayana: Part 2, Animal Park and Brahmastra 2. His immediate upcoming release is Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love & War, which also stars Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. The film is scheduled to release on January 21, 2027. Meanwhile, Ramayana: Part 2 is expected to arrive in 2028. Ranbir plays Lord Rama in Nitesh Tiwari's two-part adaptation of the epic, with Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana.
