NEET UG 2026 re-exam on June 21; candidates to get 15 extra minutes The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced a re-exam for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026. Students who appeared for the May 3 exam will now have to re-appear for the medical entrance examination. In a press conference held by Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the minister shared the revised timeline for the exam. As per the official timeline shared by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and NTA, the NEET UG 2026 re-exam will now be held from June 21, 2026 (Sunday). Usually, the NEET exam is held for three hours, but this time the Education Minister has announced that all aspirants will be given 15 minutes extra for the June 21 exam. Thus, the revised exam timings will be 2 pm to 5:15 pm. However, students should note that this is limited to the June 21 exam. NTA is also giving candidates a chance to change their preferred exam city for the June 21 exam. Pradhan, in the press briefing stated that since many students may have moved away from the exam city they chose earlier, students will now be given a chance to once again select their preferred exam city. During this time, candidates who wish to change their preferred city choice for the NEET UG re-exam can visit the official website, neet.nta.nic.in. Candidates who do not opt for this facility till May 21, their existing choice of city will be retained. As per the revised timeline shared by the Education Minister, the admit cards for the NEET UG 2026 re-exam will be issued by June 14. This was announced by the minister in the press conference he held on May 15. Students should note that they do not have to pay any registration/ examination fee for the re-NEET being held on June 21. The minister had stated that the candidates will receive a refund of their examination fees, and the upcoming re-exam will be conducted free of cost.
