In several viral videos, the veteran singer could be seen in a frail state. She has been diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss. Seeing her after a long time, her fans were concerned about her health. Following the ceremony, the 60-year-old was seen taking a wheelchair for support in moving around. Assuring fans that she is recovering well and there is no need to worry. In an official statement addressing the viral video, Alka thanked her fans and well-wishers for their love and concern. She further reacted to the circulation of the clip on social media and assured that she is ‘progressing positively’ in her recovery. Yagnik also mentioned that she took a wheelchair while leaving because she was fatigued after a long day. “Please do not worry. I am feeling much better and remain deeply grateful for the prayers and support that continue to strengthen me,” Alka wrote in the caption. She also thanked the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Government of India for the honour. A day after attending the Padma Awards 2026 ceremony, Alka penned a note thanking the Government of India for honouring her with the Padma Bhushan. She returned to the limelight after almost two years and addressed health concerns that had sparked after her appearance at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. She needed assistance to walk through the aisle to receive the certificate. Yagnik wrote, “Many of you knew I am going through difficult health and through it all, your love, prayers, messages, and unwavering support have stayed with me every step of the way.” The veteran singer further added that she wanted to attend the Padma awards ceremony to honour the love that people have showered on her over the years. Calling the Padma Bhushan honour ‘deeply humbling’, she added to the caption, “While my name may be on it, it belongs just as much to every listener who welcomed my voice into their lives, carried my songs through generations, and stood by me through both the highs and the challenges.” Reacting to Alka’s post, Shaan wrote, “Most Deserved Alka Ji !!! You are our Pride and Joy !!!
