Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi lashed out at his critics while defending their radical mid-series reshuffle of the Pakistan Cricket Team during their ongoing tour of England. The Babar Azam-led team has lost their first two Test matches in the three-match series by comprehensive margins of an innings and 104 runs and 194 runs, respectively. Ahead of the third and final Test, which will take place at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham, the PCB has decided to make seven changes in the playing XI, with the axed players including vice-captain Salman Ali Agha, former white-ball captain Mohammad Rizwan, and Imam-ul-Haq, who have been sent home. Head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul have been sacked too, with ODI and T20I coach Mike Hesson taking charge of the team. Following the decision, Naqvi has faced criticism from all corners, with several former cricketers questioning the move. However, the PCB chief has hit back at them and claimed his critics 'have achieved nothing' in an interaction with GEO NEWS. He claimed that if great players like Wasim Akram question him, he will take it seriously. He also dismissed claims that he was not giving enough time to cricket by stating people 'did not know the facts' and claimed that his critics are not concerned about Pakistan cricket and have a personal issue with him. "I have never been afraid of criticism, and I never will be," said Naqvi. "Those who say cricket has been destroyed since I came — look at what the rankings were before," he replied to claims that Pakistan cricket has gone downhill after his arrival On the unprecedented decision to send seven players back home from England in between the series, Naqvi claimed performance was not the reason, but this was not the right time to disclose it.
