PM Modi will also address the gathering on the occasion. The Centenary celebrations coincide with Teachers’ Day, "making the occasion particularly significant as the nation honours the contribution of teachers and educators in shaping generations and strengthening the foundations of society," an official release stated. Teachers’ Day is observed in India on September 5 every year to mark the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, India’s first Vice President and second President. The detailed schedule for PM Modi's visit and his interaction with students is yet to be released, but it has been announced that the PM will reach the college at 7 pm. Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi, is one of India’s premier institutions of higher education and a distinguished centre of learning in the fields of Commerce, Economics and Management. Established in 1926 by eminent industrialist and philanthropist Sir Shri Ram, the College has, over the course of a century, nurtured generations of scholars, professionals, administrators, entrepreneurs, policymakers and nation-builders. Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) student wing, Association of Students for Alternative Politics (ASAP), has announced a protest tomorrow at SRCC. This demonstartion is scheduled to begin at 10 am The student wing has claimed that they will be protesting against the Prime Minister over jantar mantar protests. During the protests, AAP's student wing volunteers will be raising questions such as 'why were students lathi charged on July 20 for 'peaceful protest?' Association of Students for Alternative Politics (ASAP) is the official student wing of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which was launched on May 20, 2025.
