Shubman Gill's epic one-word message to Virat Kohli in the comment sections of a viral reel labelling him as his son 'Akaay's uncle' became the talk of the town on social media. The Indian Test and ODI captain tagged the former Indian skipper in his remark after a content creator's video was widely shared all over Instagram. The creator made a short video acting as Akaay's teacher and telling him to ask both his parents – Virat and wife Anushka Sharma – to come to school as a punishment for him. She also asks him to bring his uncle 'Shubman' with them. Gill was quick to take notice of the hilarious video and played on. "bhai dw I gotch (Brother, don't worry, I've got you covered,)" wrote the 26-year-old. Gill and Kohli share a close relationship, which is well documented. The Indian skipper has spoken multiple times of the legendary batter being his idol growing up. Meanwhile, Kohli has spoken glowingly about Gill on numerous occasions. Both also share a close friendship on the field. In July ahead of the ODI series between India and England, Gill and Kohli were seen having a long conversation during a net session. Later, the Indian captain revealed the discussions were around the team's plans for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027 and which players should be on their radar. "And as I said, we were talking about the combination. Which combination would be best for us in South Africa? Which players are there who may not be in the team now, but can help us in the future? Which bowlers are there? Which all-rounders? Which spinners? So, we were talking about all that," said Gill in a press conference.
