Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri has announced that the Meta-owned social media platform is rolling out a new feature that gives users more control over what appears on their profiles. The social media app will now let users add posts they are tagged in directly to their main profile grid. "Starting to roll out today, you can now add posts you’re tagged in to your grid. The new feature is useful for those who want to show group photos, creator collaborations, events and other memories without having to post the content themselves. Until now, posts that other people tagged you in appeared under Instagram's dedicated Tagged section. With the latest update, users can choose which of those posts they want to bring to the main profile grid. How To Add Tagged Posts To Your Instagram Profile Grid Instagram says there are three ways to add a tagged post to your main profile grid. - Directly from the DM notification they receive when someone tags them - By tapping the three-dot menu on a post they are tagged in - By pressing and holding a post in the Tagged tab on their profile Once a tagged post is added to the main grid, it will appear in reverse-chronological order by default. However, users can also reorder their profile grid if they have already customised its arrangement. It is important to note that adding a tagged post to the main grid will not affect the original post.
