Kunal Kemmu talks about directing Sharmila Tagore in Vibe After Madgaon Express, Kunal Kemmu returned to the director's chair with Vibe. He headlines the film with Preity Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava and Vanshika Dhir. The trailer of the comedy entertainer revealed that Sharmila Tagore plays a delegate in the film. However, more details about her character are not revealed. In an exclusive interview with Zoom, Kunal opened up about casting his mother-in-law Sharmila for a cameo. Kemmu credited his wife, Soha Ali Khan, who is the youngest child of Tagore and Tiger Pataudi, for making the iconic collaboration happen. Talking to Zoom, Vibe's director and lead actor Kunal said, "Soha one day was telling me that 'Amma wants to do a cameo in your film'. She had heard some good things about Madgaon Express and said, 'I would also like to do a fun film.' She then said, 'I want to do a cameo in your next.'" Kemmu added, "I genuinely had a place in the film and I didn't want to take it for granted. I reached out hoping that she'd say main mazak kar rahi thi, kya hua tujhe. I told her, 'Amma, there is a cameo in my film and I would like you to do it.' She asked, 'What is your film about?' I thought baap re I would have to audition. She said, 'I was joking with you, of course I will do.' She was gracious enough to come and do that scene. I was a checklist I didn't know I have to take, but it is great to have that in your bio that I got to call action and cut on the great Sharmila Tagore." Vibe is touted to be a high-stakes action comedy written and directed by Kunal. The film is also produced by Kunal along with Chirag Nihalani under the banner of Drongo Films. The spy comedy follows two inseparable friends whose ordinary lives spiral into an unpredictable adventure, pushing their survival instincts and friendship to the limit. The two friends living are thrust into a high-stakes mission by Madam H. Vibe also stars Yashpal Sharma and Dinesh Lal Yadav in pivotal roles.
