Unlike conventional smartwatches and fitness bands, it focuses on tracking changes in blood flow to the brain. The device uses optical sensors to measure changes in cerebral blood flow, which Temple refers to as BrainFlow. It also provides an Entropy score ranging from 1 to 250. This score is intended to indicate the body's physiological strain in response to factors such as sleep, stress, exercise and caffeine. The project also examines how gravity and body posture may influence blood supply to the brain. Temple is being developed for wellness and research purposes and is not intended to diagnose medical conditions. Notably, Temple's first pre-order window will open on November 1, 2026. The initial batch will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, as confirmed in the email sent to people who signed up for early access.
