Ryan Rickelton was bemused with the fan's banner |Courtesy - screengrab A fan sitting on the grass banks inside the scenic Newlands Cricket Stadium in Cape Town went viral during the third day of play in the third Test on Thursday (October 29) between South Africa and Australia as he brought out a placard that was caught by the cameras. The spectator seemingly proposed to Ryan Rickelton's mother in a visual that quickly became the talk of the internet. 'Ryan Rickelton, is your mom single?' read the placard. 'Not sure he is putting his best foot forward,' the commentator joked. After the broadcaster showed the fan, the cameras moved towards the Proteas wicket-keeper, who appeared to see the visual on the big screen inside the stadium. The player appeared bemused by the action of the individual but then joined in the fun and nodded a 'no.' The two teams arrived in Cape Town for the final Test of the series with the series 1-1, and the match is headed towards a cracking finish. The series decider has seen momentum shift between the two sides since the first day of play, after Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to bat. Aiden Markram (78), Marques Ackerman (95), David Bedingham (50), and Marco Jansen (52) made half-centuries. South Africa were bowled out for 329 despite a 158-run opening partnership, with Mitchell Starc taking a six-wicket haul. In reply, Australia took a 100-run lead with Josh Inglis (102) scoring a century on his comeback to the Test team after more than a year. Matt Renshaw (74), Cameron Green (65), and Alex Carey (80) also contributed to the big total. Simon Harmer was the pick of the bowlers for South Africa with a four-wicket haul. As far as Rickelton is concerned, he made 42 runs in the first innings for the Proteas and took three catches behind the stumps. It has not been a memorable series for the Proteas star so far. In the opening game, he played as a specialist batter and opened the batting but was dismissed for a duck in the first innings before only making two runs in the second outing. In the second game, he was handed the gloves and moved to the middle order. In his sole outing, he made 31 runs.
