Introduced as Mahanthi Jhansi Rani, Tabu is seen taking an oath of office, offering a glimpse into her commanding role as a political personality. The film's lead Nagarjuna also shared the poster with a special birthday message for his co-star. Their reunion brings back a popular pairing praised by Telugu cinema lovers. The makers of King100 unveiled Tabu's character poster on Wednesday, November 4, giving audiences their first look at her role in the film. The actor plays Mahanthi Jhansi Rani, who appears to be an influential political leader. The glimpse shows her taking the oath of office, while her confident style hints at a character who displays authority. A dialogue from the promo offers a glimpse into her outlook on life. "There only two kinds of people in this world - one who believe in hard work and one in luck. I hate luck," she says. Nagarjuna also marked Tabu's birthday by sharing her character poster on social media. Alongside the image, he penned a warm message for his co-star, writing, "Happy Birthday to Dear #Tabutiful. The world will never forget Pandu from Ninne Pelladata... and now you’ll be etched in our memories as 'Mahanthi Jhansi Rani'. You made this film so special." King100 brings Nagarjuna and Tabu together nearly 28 years after their last collaboration in Aavida Maa Aavide (1998). The two actors had earlier shared screen space in the 1996 Telugu film Ninne Pelladata, which went on to become a big success. Written and directed by RA Karthik, King100 is being made as a commercial entertainer. In an earlier conversation with Variety, Nagarjuna described the film as a story centred on a father-daughter relationship, set against a rags-to-riches backdrop. The film will also use de-ageing technology to portray the actor at different stages of his character's life, spanning the ages of 25 to 60. Produced by Annapurna Studios, the film has Devi Sri Prasad composing the music. Raja Mahadhevan is handling cinematography, while Navin Nooli is the editor and Sathees Kumar N is the production designer. King100 is scheduled to release in theatres worldwide on December 24, 2026, coinciding with the Christmas holiday period.
