(Credit: X/@BCCI) After the second ODI against New Zealand in Wellington, star Indian cricketer KL Rahul won hearts with a kind gesture by giving an official his Game Changer of the Match prize smartphone. After getting the phone from Rahul, the female official expressed surprise and thanks, stating that she had not anticipated the gesture. "Well, he just gave me his phone. I am a bit of shocked; it was very kind of them to give it over to me. I wasn't expecting it, that's for sure," the lady official said in a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The BCCI also praised Rahul's gesture in a post on X, writing, "Big player. Bigger heart. An act of kindness and pure ????????????????????." In the rain-shortened second ODI in Wellington on Saturday, India defeated New Zealand by four runs (DLS method) to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. As India bowled out New Zealand for 134 in 41 overs, Gurnoor Brar shone with career-best figures of 4/30. Anshul Kamboj and Auqib Nabi each took two wickets, with Daryl Mitchell leading the way with 55. India was struggling at 47/4 while chasing 135 before Rahul (26*) and Shreyas Iyer (30) stabilised the innings. Before the rain stopped play, New Zealand battled back to reduce India to 113/7. India won by four runs above the DLS par score. Because of his outstanding four-wicket haul that destroyed the New Zealand's batting attack, Indian speedster Gurnoor won the Player of the Match. On November 10, India and New Zealand will play their third ODI at Hamilton. In the five-match series, the Men in Blue will try to maintain their lead and increase it, while the Black Caps will try to bounce back and keep themselves alive in the series.
