White House posts Drake's 'Iceman' album cover with MAGA chain The White House has sparked fresh controversy after sharing a MAGA-themed edit of Drake’s newly released Iceman album cover on its official social media account Friday. The original artwork for Iceman, released on May 15, features a hand wearing a crystal-covered glove with the fingers pinched together. However, the White House edited the image to include a large diamond-studded pendant reading “MAGA” — short for “Make America Great Again,” the slogan closely tied to President Donald Trump and his administration. “ICED OUT,” the White House captioned the post on X, formerly Twitter. The post quickly drew criticism online, with social media users questioning why the administration was using the rapper’s imagery for political messaging. “Drake paying for trump promo yea its over” one user wrote, while another joked, "So Trump picked the Drake side?!!" The controversy comes amid a major release day for Drake, who surprised fans by dropping not only Iceman but also two additional projects, Habibti and Maid of Honor. Despite the White House’s MAGA-themed post, Drake has not publicly supported Trump or the MAGA movement in recent years. In fact, the rapper openly criticized Trump during a 2017 concert in London. Speaking during his Boy Meets World Tour, Drake referenced political division in the United States and said, “If you think one man can tear this world apart, you’re out of your motherf–king mind.” He later added a direct message aimed at Trump: “F–k that man.” The Trump administration has previously faced backlash for using music and celebrity imagery in political content. Artists including Sabrina Carpenter and Olivia Rodrigo have publicly criticized the administration for using their songs in immigration-related videos.
