Microsoft Outlook is facing problems again today as the major email outage continues into its second day. Hundreds of users in the US have reported issues with Outlook and other Microsoft 365 services, according to the outage tracking platform DownDetector. Users have complained about problems sending and receiving emails, opening their inboxes and searching for messages. Some users have also faced login and connection problems. According to Downdetector, the most reported problems with Microsoft Outlook are related to receiving messages, accounting for 39 per cent of reports. Login issues make up 24 per cent, while 22 per cent of users are reporting problems with the Outlook app. "Is MS team is down ? #microsoft," a user posted on the Elon Musk-owned social media platform X. Microsoft’s official Microsoft 365 Service Health page currently shows 'Service degradation' for Microsoft 365 Business and Enterprise services. "We're continuing to apply the targeted authentication component fix across the remaining affected infrastructure where necessary. Service telemetry continues to indicate recovery, with availability increasing across previously impacted scenarios as remediation progresses. We're validating that authentication, connectivity and search operations are returning to expected service levels while monitoring for any residual impact and confirming that the remediation is delivering broad mitigation across affected Exchange Online scenarios. As recovery signals continue to trend positively, we're maintaining extended monitoring across affected service workflows to ensure improvements are sustained," the Microsoft 365 Service Health page said. It is important to note that the US-based tech giant on Monday also faced a major outage. Thousands of users was unable to use Outlook. Microsoft later confirmed that the issue was linked to a core authentication configuration affecting multiple Microsoft 365 services. "We've confirmed that users may experience degraded functionality with various Exchange Online functionalities. We're reviewing service telemetry and diagnostic data to isolate the source of the issue. For more information, please see EX1464935 in the admin center," the company had said on the social media platform. "We have determined that maintenance related activity had unintended impact on the Microsoft Teams service and resulted in degraded functionality for users in Asia-Pacific.
