New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has issued interim restraints in separate proceedings brought by Terra Invest founders Ankiti Bose and Krishan Rattan concerning articles published on Inventiva, with the latest order barring further articles containing defamatory imputations against Rattan. The order was passed by Justice Sachin Datta in Krishan Rattan v. Mr Nitin Naresh & Ors., CS(OS) 815/2026. It follows an order dated 24 August 2026 in Bose's case, CS(OS) 756/2026, which restricted circulation of specified articles and further publications interfering with her exercise of legal rights. Together, the orders give the two founders separate judicial protection in their publication disputes. The operative directions apply to defendants 1 to 5 in each case. In paragraph 21, the High Court directed that the defendants are “restrained from publishing any further articles containing any defamatory imputations against the plaintiff.” The court recorded Rattan's complaint that the publications contained allegations affecting his reputation and professional standing. His counsel relied on an English consent order dated 5 August 2026 concerning the Voltaire proceedings. The Delhi order records his reliance on the discontinuance of proceedings against him without an adverse finding of fraud, dishonesty or wrongdoing. Rattan's grievance, as recorded by the court, included articles insinuating his continued involvement in those proceedings despite that development. This was part of the case presented for interim protection; the September order does not amount to a final determination of every disputed publication. The High Court stated that its direction rested on the prima facie case and balance of convenience. It also expressly preserved the defendants' ability to continue their fact-finding exercise concerning the allegations. That qualification forms part of the same order as the publication restraint. Defendants 1 to 5 were restrained from disseminating the identified articles through LinkedIn or other social media accounts. The court additionally restrained further articles that would have the effect of preventing Bose from exercising her legal right. That direction followed earlier District Court proceedings at Dwarka. The High Court's account of those proceedings records an 8 June 2026 injunction directing removal of an impugned article and restraining further defamatory publications. The litigation concerns named publications and specific judicial directions. Terra Invest's connection is through its founders and the business associations discussed in the contested coverage. The plaintiffs named in the two High Court orders are Bose and Rattan individually. This distinction also explains the significance of the latest development. The September order provides Rattan with a restraint in his own suit, while Bose's August order addresses the publications and legal-rights concerns raised in hers. The September order listed Rattan's matter before the Joint Registrar on 13 October 2026 and before the court on 29 October 2026. Further proceedings will determine the parties' substantive claims and defences. The interim relief already granted establishes a clear requirement to respect the publication restrictions while that process continues.
