How the CBSE Class 10 Phase 2 Result Delay Is Affecting Admissions and Student Mental Health As thousands of students across the country await the CBSE Class 10 second board examination results, concerns are growing over the delay in the declaration of scores. While the board has not officially announced a result date yet, students say the uncertainty is affecting their academic plans and increasing stress levels. Many students believe that the results are taking longer than expected. Rimjhim Batra, a Class 10 student from Noida, says checking for updates has become part of her daily routine. "Honestly, it has become a routine now in my life that the first thing I do when I wake up is check if the results are announced or if there is any information about them," she says. Students point out that the delay CBSE class 10 phase 2 results is not merely about waiting. It is also affecting admissions into Class 11. Those seeking a change of school or stream are finding themselves at a disadvantage. Explaining the issue, Rimjhim says students who scored lower in one subject in the first board examination but appeared for improvement exams are unable to meet admission criteria at new schools. "Schools don't want to take the risk because they cannot wait indefinitely for second board results," she adds. A similar concern was echoed by Vartika Srivastava, a Class 10 student from Indara in Uttar Pradesh's Mau district. "Seats get filled while we wait for the results. We can't focus on anything else, and it leads to stress thinking about what if marks are low again," she says. However, not all students believe the delay has directly affected academics. Shubham, a Class 10 student from Delhi, says the biggest impact has been psychological. "There isn't really any academic issue being caused due to the delay in result. But it is giving us anxiety, and I doubt there is a greater negative impact than mental stress," he says. Students are also urging CBSE to maintain transparency. Vartika says the board should communicate a clear timeline and avoid misinformation. "If there's a reason for the delay, tell us simply. Also, when results come, the website should work fast," she says, recalling past instances of website crashes during result announcements. The delay has also reignited discussions around On-Screen Marking (OSM). While CBSE has not implemented OSM for Class 10 second board exams, many students remain cautious after controversies surrounding its use in Class 12 evaluation. "We don't want our answer sheets to be checked by a computer system. We are very comfortable with teachers scoring us," says Rimjhim, referring to concerns raised after CBSE Class 12 results. Echoing similar sentiments, Shubhra, a Class 10 student from Chennai, says, "At this point, I am just glad that our result is not going through OSM. They can delay the result as much as they can, but I just request that they get it right." As students continue to wait, one message comes through clearly: while a delayed result may be manageable, transparency, accuracy, and timely communication from CBSE remain their biggest expectations.
