Andhra Pradesh Offers Free APSRTC Bus Travel for NEET UG 2026 Students on June 21Jun 16, 2026, 19:40 IST
Andhra Pradesh to provide free bus services for NEET aspirants on June 21 Students appearing for the NEET UG 2026 examination in Andhra Pradesh on June 21 will be able to travel free of cost on APSRTC buses, state Transport Minister M Ramprasad Reddy announced on Tuesday, reports PTI. According to the minister, candidates can avail the free travel facility by producing their NEET UG admit card or hall ticket while boarding the bus to their examination centre. "APSRTC is making special arrangements for students appearing for the NEET examination. We are offering free bus rides for students who produce their hall tickets," Reddy said in an official release. The initiative aims to ease travel-related stress for aspirants and ensure they reach their exam centres on time without worrying about transportation expenses. With thousands of students expected to appear for the medical entrance examination across the state, the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) is also preparing additional services. The minister said that extra buses would be operated in areas where demand is expected to be high. The move is intended to facilitate smooth movement of candidates, especially those travelling from rural and remote regions to examination centres. Reddy urged students to make use of the free bus service and plan their journeys in advance to avoid last-minute inconvenience on exam day. Apart from Andhra Pradesh, several other states have also announced free travel facilities for NEET UG 2026 re-exam candidates to ensure hassle-free access to examination centres. Punjab has extended free bus travel to both students and one accompanying guardian, while Haryana, Delhi, Bihar, and Odisha have announced similar arrangements for candidates travelling on exam day. Most states have asked students to carry their NEET admit card or hall ticket, which will serve as a travel pass for availing the free transport facility. NEET UG remains one of India's largest entrance examinations for undergraduate medical admissions, with lakhs of candidates appearing every year for admission to MBBS, BDS and other allied health science courses. The announcement comes as states and authorities across the country step up arrangements to ensure hassle-free conduct of the examination. Students in Andhra Pradesh are advised to carry their hall tickets at all times while travelling, as it will serve as proof of eligibility for the free bus ride facility.
