India will have their eyes on the series win when they take on Sri Lanka in the 2nd and final Test of the series at Colombo's Sinhalese Sports Club, starting August 23. The visiting team registered a big 165-run victory in the series opener to go 1-0 up. While Sri Lanka could go into the second game unchanged, Sri Lanka could have a couple of changes, as per their former all-rounder Russell Arnold. Responding to Times Now in a conversation arranged by Sony Sports Network, Russell said that Pasindu Sooriyabandara will come into the playing XI and that they might only play one pacer. "There could be a couple of changes, because now, I think Pasindu Sooriyabandara will come in as a starter, and Sri Lanka might look at going in with the one seamer and bring in another spinner, as was suggested, Ramesh Mendis. But we are still two days out of the Test match; hence, the pitch needs to be assessed," Russell said. While talking about the players who stood out for him, Russell namedropped Sonal Dinusha and Keshara Nuwantha. "Sonal Dinusha and Keshara Nuwantha were the standouts for me. Because the debutant had a very hard first day, but he came back strong. He showed that he can get it right. He showed that he can be patient, which he didn't do on the first day," he opined. "That's the key on these pitches. Even though they are helpful, you cannot go away from that little handkerchief-like area where you need to stick and stick, and then suddenly something gives. So, he was very impressive. He showed, some game sense, especially when he came out to bat in that, fourth innings. Yet there was not much on offer, but as long as Sonal Dinosha was there, he showed that he can read a game. So I like that. And then there's nothing to talk about Sonal Dinusha. He was just outstanding. He lived in his own little world, and played options that suited that pitch. A great little find for Sri Lanka, I would say," Russell added. Meanwhile, there is no official update on Washington Sundar and he is all but ruled out of the second Test. He was initially only ruled out of the first Test. Sundar is down with an injury and didn't travel to Sri Lanka with the team. Rishav Narang is an experienced writer with nine years of experience in sports journalism.
