Commercial LPG Cylinder Price Hiked By Rs 10, Third Straight Monthly Increase Ahead Of Festive Season (Representational Image) New Delhi: The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder has been increased by around Rs 10 to Rs 2,820 from Sunday (November 1). The 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder was priced at Rs 2,810 on October 1. Following the latest revision, its cost has gone up by Rs 10 in the past month. Meanwhile, there is no change in the prices of domaestic LPG cylinders. This is the third consecutive monthly hike in commercial LPG prices, putting additional pressure on the hospitality industry, restaurants and other commercial establishments during the peak festive season. Meanwhile, a new connection for a 5-kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinder costs Rs 1,903, while a refill is priced at Rs 782, as per the revised rates. Commercial LPG prices have experienced significant fluctuations in 2026, largely due to geopolitical developments and external factors. On May 1, rates saw a sharp monthly increase of nearly Rs 1,000 per cylinder, taking the price of a commercial cylinder in Delhi above the Rs 3,000 mark to around Rs 3,071.50. However, consumers got some relief in July and August, when oil marketing companies announced successive price cuts totalling Rs 380 per cylinder, easing the burden on commercial users during the summer months. After slight increases on September 1 and a Rs 65 hike per cylinder on October 1, commercial LPG prices were raised once again on November 1. The latest increase ranges from Rs 10 to Rs 17 across major cities, taking the price in Delhi to Rs 2,820. The increase in commericial cylinder prices throughout 2026 are largely driven by escalating tensions between the United States and Iran and naval disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, the critical maritime choke point through which a significant portion of Middle Eastern crude and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) passes. After the price increase, the Congress launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the latest commercial LPG price hike, calling him the ‘Inflation Man’ and accusing his government of having only one agenda — to ‘loot the public’.In a post on X, the party alleged that commercial cylinder prices had risen by Rs 1,287 in the first 10 months of the year, adding to the burden on consumers just ahead of Diwali. "Just before Diwali, the 'Inflation Man' has cracked his whip again. Commercial LPG cylinders have become ?17 more expensive. In 10 months this year, Modi has hiked the price of commercial cylinders by ?1,287. The cylinder that was ?1,684 at the start of the year is now ?2,971. Modi's sole agenda is - loot the public," the COngress said in an X post.
