New Delhi: Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices were hiked by Rs 1.37 per litre from Sunday, marking the fourth consecutive monthly increase, driven by a rise in international benchmark rates. ATF prices for domestic airlines have now climbed to Rs 138.30 per litre. The previous hike was a steep Rs 16 per litre on October 1. Before that, prices had increased by Rs 6.28 per litre on September 1 and Rs 5 per litre on August 1. Since jet fuel accounts for around 35-40 per cent of an airline's total operating costs, the latest increase is expected to add further pressure on carriers' expenses. Earlier in the day, the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder was increased by around Rs 10 to Rs 2,820 from Sunday (November 1). The cylinder was priced at Rs 2,810 on October 1. Following the latest revision, its cost has risen by Rs 10 over the past month. Meanwhile, there has been no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders. This marks the third consecutive monthly hike in commercial LPG prices, putting additional pressure on the hospitality industry, restaurants and other commercial establishments during the peak festive season. Meanwhile, a new connection for a 5-kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinder costs Rs 1,903, while a refill is priced at Rs 782, as per the revised rates.
