The Ministry of Education has extended the deadline for submitting entries for Rashtriya Kavya Utsav 2026 to August 15. Interested students can submit their entries before the deadline and showcase their poetry recitation and expressive reading skills from across the country. The Ministry of Education, through an X post, informed about the extension of the deadline for the Rashtriya Kavya Utsav 2026 and urged students from across the country to complete their entries before the deadline. The initiative is being conducted through Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya (ReP), a digital initiative of the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education. It aims to encourage reading habits, creativity, confidence, and emotional expression among young learners. The competition is open to students of Classes 9 to 12 from across India. Each participant is allowed to submit only one entry. Students are required to select their poem from the list provided on the Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya platform. The poems listed on the portal include works of poets such as Subhadra Kumari Chauhan, Suryakant Tripathi 'Nirala', Bhawani Prasad Mishra and Goswami Tulsidas. Participants need to submit a video of their poetry recitation, where the video duration must be between 60 and 90 seconds. The recitation must be performed by the participant and should be original. Submitted videos that contain background music, dubbing, voice enhancement, or edited content will not be accepted. Students must upload their video on Instagram, YouTube, or X using the hashtag #RashtriyaKavyaUtsav. The consent of the parent or guardian of the participant is mandatory before submitting the entry. Students can register themselves through the Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya portal and submit their entry by August 15, 2026. The official portal also provides a step-by-step guide for participants. It is to be noted that submitted entries cannot be withdrawn and may be used for promotional purposes. The organisers have also stated that plagiarised or inappropriate content can lead to disqualification, and the decision of the organising committee will be final.
