Yuvraj Singh will be part of Sourav Ganguly's coaching staff Yuvraj Singh will join Delhi Capitals (DC) and take up his first-ever coaching role in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the 2027 season. The 2011 World Cup hero will join newly appointed head coach Sourav Ganguly's coaching staff and work as the assistant and batting coach. The franchise made the announcement on social media through a monologue by Ganguly. "Well, what does it mean to be a tiger? Does it mean being fearless? Does it mean making the impossible look ordinary? Does it mean carrying the hopes of a billion people? Or does it mean fighting a battle that no one can see? Tigers aren't defined by their victories alone. A tiger leads. A tiger inspires. And above all, a tiger never stops believing," said Ganguly. Yuvraj and Ganguly are known to share a close bond since their playing days. The former made his debut for Team India in 2000 under the latter's captaincy. He remained a regular in the ODI team for Ganguly's entire tenure leading the Indian cricket team. Upon reaching his appointment, Yuvraj claimed coaching is something he is passionate and excited about. "I am excited to begin a new chapter in my life with the Delhi Capitals. I have an old association with the franchise and know the owners well, which makes this a special opportunity for me. I’m also looking forward to teaming up with Dada, this time as coaches. Coaching is something I am truly passionate about, and I cannot wait to get started with this extremely talented squad. I’m sure it’s going to be an exciting journey for me, and I look forward to contributing to the team’s success," said Yuvraj in a statement issued by the franchise. While Yuvraj has never held a coaching position with any team so far, he has earned praise for his work with several players individually, particularly. Abhishek Sharma has credited the Indian cricket legend for his rise after being mentored by him. He also worked with others. "We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Yuvi to the Delhi Capitals family. Yuvi is one of Indian cricket’s greatest match-winners and someone who has played a pivotal role in mentoring many of the brightest young talents in Indian cricket today. His experience, winning mindset, and ability to connect with players will be invaluable to our squad. "We wish him all the very best as he takes on his first formal coaching role, and we are excited to begin this new chapter together. His return to the franchise also marks a special moment for everyone associated with the Capitals, and we look forward to seeing him work with Dada and the rest of the staff going forward," said DC co-owner Parth Jindal.
