K Srikanth lashed out at the team management for his treament of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi |Courtesy - PTI/AP 1983 World Cup winner Kris Srikkanth questioned India's treatment of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi as the 15-year-old continues to warm the bench for Team India in their ongoing series against the West Indies. The Men in Blue have opted to open with Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson in all three games so far. Vaibhav won the Player of the Series (POTS) award when India toured Zimbabwe for three T20Is in July but was left out of the playing XI in each of the three games against Afghanistan as well as the one-off clash against Japan. However, he was included in the playing XI for the semi-final and final of the 2026 Asian Games, where the team needed an extra batter on a difficult surface, but once again was benched when the team returned home to the placid tracks. "Samson has always been up and down. His consistency has always been questionable. He'll suddenly do wonders like the World Cup and then suddenly fail a lot. Someone like Abhishek Sharma never has such extremes. Now, again, Samson will score in the next match,"Srikanth added. The comments come on the back of Sooryavanshi's childhood coach Manish Ojha lashing out at Gautam Gambhir in an exclusive interaction with Sports Now. Ojha did not mince words in his words and claimed the head coach is running a 'dictatorship.' India will play the fourth T20I of the series on Wednesday (October 14) at Hyderabad. They are currently leading the series 2-1. Disclaimer: This article summarizes a report by K Srikkanth.
